G³ Solutions Birthday
It was in November of 2004 when the idea began to form…
Let’s make a site so that I don’t have to answer the same questions over and over.
Let’s make it so that we can add more and more to it - eventually even software.
Let’s think of a killer name.
Let’s make it big and always growing.
Let’s make it so that it grows and gets loads of traffic.
Let’s make it expand to eventually take over the planet - and then the galaxy - and then beyond!!!!
Needless to say not all of those ideas have yet come to pass.
On January 11th of 2005 I meandered off to buy a domain name. There were no “kgiii” names available other than the .info and, well, that fit as the goal was to provide information.
We’ve expanded to what you see here and to have our own hosting company. Our growth is steady though spurts once in a while. Our goals are mostly met in that we’re providing a place where people can go to have their technology questions answered in various ways. That is, and will always be, our goal. (Domination of everything is also on the list.)
Today I renewed the domain name, I’d forgotten to do it sooner, but it stood as a nice reminder of how far we’ve come through the past couple of years. Even the forum, which wasn’t originally part of the site, has grown. Old members are gone, new members are here, the software has changed, the location of the forum has changed, and the whole place has taken on a life of its own.
There are not too many days that go by where someone hasn’t used the contact form on the main site to email a question. The traffic from other sites and search engines continues to grow - last month we used well over 2 GB in viewed traffic.
It is appropriate that the birth of the site follows the start of the year. As we wind down from the year before and prepare to ramp up for the year ahead, this too celebrates a day of beginning. We too, we being you and us, are given the chance to grow into something bigger, better, and constantly evolving to meet our needs.
It is not just happy birthday to G³ Solutions but a day of celebration to/for each and every one of you.
So, let me say it, “Happy Birthday to you.”
I will leave this one unlocked so that people can respond if they desire.
G³ Solutions - Today is our Birthday. - Page 1
I am a day late getting it out but plan on celebrating the entire week. See the look of the home page if you’d like.
