I wonder if those people asked the aliens before making said statements.

*sighs*

I really have to wonder about the state of "journalism" today. Glorified liars seems to be about the best description I can come up with. They'll sacrifice their own mothers for a story, have the ethics of a congressman, and generally try to claim that we have a "right to know" and that it is covered under some bullshit freedom of the press laws.

I don't think of myself as a journalist. Not at all. I'm just a blogger. I was a journalist in my earlier years. (I covered the political and hard-copy beat in Northern Androscoggin County and Southern Franklin County for the Lewiston Sun Journal.) What I do know is that if I had access to information that would result in harm coming to a business and there was no good to come from telling the public? I'd not mention it in the blog.

I do know that that doesn't make me a journalist. That's okay, it makes me someone with ethics. (I quit the journalism career when I discovered that there was a giant polluting paper mill that I could publish absolutely nothing about because any time I tried I'd end up with the results being edited to say something entirely different than what I'd written in the first place.)

I wouldn't want or take insider secrets. I wouldn't take boardroom notes and publish them. If someone from a company came to us with information about what they were doing behind closed doors I'd take that information and I'd provide it to the corporation they came from. With the name still attached...

I suppose this is pretty awful with the gliberalism-spawned blog-o-sphere and that makes me some sort of communist or something as far as they're concerned. I don't mind. I accept that. The oddest thing is that they'd likely jump to those conclusions without knowing me when, in fact, I'm probably far more liberal than any of them it is just that I'm also far more logical than any of them and am aware that my actions don't have the right to harm another even in the name of Free Press.

You know...

If they shot a few more of those "Reporters Without Boarders" they might realize that they're in another country and one of the beautiful things about the Earth is that we don't all have to believe the same things and that those people who live in different countries are entitled to have different beliefs and customs and yes, those rights include (I suppose) the rights to run their countries the way that they want.

Freedom ends at the end of your nose and it is MY OPINION that so long as there are no efforts made to directly stop people from leaving countries ruled by insane dictators who oppress everything from women to various races while, at the same time, committing every vile act against humanity as they possibly can it is not the duty of the world to intervene so much as it is the duty of the residents of the country to pack their bags and move.

Now how we reached that subject from the other is completely beyond me...

However I should also add that the above opinions represent my own and that while I haven't much love for the evil tyrants of the world I haven't much love for those who will go to war against them either. G³ Solutions doesn't go to war, doesn't have any tyrants, and doesn't hold any political sway nor any political opinion so the above opinions are certainly my own and should not be used to judge other people.
